Yarra lighting audit
The audit assessed lighting along the Yarra River corridor from the Bolte Bridge to the Swan Street Bridge, a distance of 4.5 kilometres. This includes the Southbank promenade, the city's 'pre-eminent public space'. The audit found the corridor was well lit, potential features were mostly lit, and the light fittings were moderately distinctive. However feature lighting of several significant bridges was missing, the fittings did not reinforce the sense of continuous routes along the river banks, and little infrastructure was provided for temporary and seasonal lighting.
