Stonnington neighbourhood centres strategy

Alexander Urbanism was the urban design consultant for a team addressing the future ecomonic, social, community and environmental roles of seventeen of Stonnington's smaller town centres.  Alexander Urbanism advised on the potential for change in both the public and private realms of these centres.

We considered the centres' structures, built form, active frontages, level of visual enclosure, notable buildings, pedestrina amenity, visual interest, advertising signs, pedestrian crossings, social spaces, branding, footpaths, planting, lighting, and street furniture.

We made detailed urban design recommendations for each centre and generally.  These included suggesting major redevelop in some of the centres.
